Welcome to Post 16

Welcome to The Castle School Post-16 Centre

Starting Sixth Form is an exciting step. For some students, Castle already feels familiar; for others, it is a new school and a new community. Wherever you have joined us from, you will be an equally important member of our Post-16 Centre.

The next two years bring greater freedom and independence, alongside greater challenge and responsibility. We will expect you to attend regularly, work hard, participate fully and communicate when you need help. In return, we will know you, support you and challenge you.

Our dedicated Post-16 Centre offers space to study, meet friends and take part in Sixth Form life. You will benefit from specialist teaching, a tutor who gets to know you, and guidance as you make decisions about your future. We want you to achieve qualifications you are proud of and develop the confidence, curiosity and independence to use them well.

Castle Sixth Form is about more than your chosen subjects. Through personal development, enrichment, work experience and opportunities to lead, you can explore new interests and contribute to the wider school community.

We are a larger-than-average, oversubscribed Sixth Form with 140 in a year group, with a large catchment area, including Dursley, Yate, Abbywood and Bradley Stoke, as we are well served by public transport.

I hope you will visit us, meet our students and staff, and see what your next two years at Castle could be like.
