Support and Wellbeing

You do not have to manage everything alone

The move to Sixth Form can be rewarding and demanding. If you are worried about your work, wellbeing or something happening outside school, speak to us early. You do not need to wait until a concern becomes serious.

Your tutor is usually the first person to speak to about progress, organisation, wellbeing or plans for the future. For a question about a particular lesson, homework task or assessment, start with your subject teacher. You can also speak to any trusted adult if you have a personal or safeguarding concern.

The Post-16 team

Mr Lee, Assistant Headteacher – Post-16, has overall responsibility for the curriculum, academic standards and the Post-16 experience.

Ms Mcleod, Deputy Head of Post-16, supports students with pastoral matters, attendance and day-to-day concerns.

Mrs Hathaway, Post-16 Administrator, can help with general enquiries, forms, appointments and bursary enquiries.

Mr Summers and Mrs MacIsaac, Student Support Workers, offer academic mentoring, pastoral support and practical help with organisation, attendance or progress.

Mrs Hatcher, Careers Lead, provides guidance on university, apprenticeships, employment, training and other next steps.

Mental health support

If something is affecting your mental health, learning or daily life, tell your tutor or another member of the Post-16 team. Staff will listen and help you find appropriate support. Where necessary to keep someone safe, information may need to be shared with the safeguarding team.

You can also access support from YoungMinds (youngminds.org.uk), Kooth (kooth.com), Childline (childline.org.uk or 0800 1111) and Samaritans (samaritans.org or 116 123). If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
