Excellent (Gold) Level Modeshift STARS Accreditation

The Staff and students at The Castle School are absolutely delighted to have been recognised by Modeshift STARs for our Excellent Travel Plan and Modeshift Gold accreditation.

 

This recognition comes after a very successful active travel year when we attended the National School Travel Awards Finals in London. The staff and students have continued to work very hard, putting in a great deal of effort and commitment to achieving positive change. We will continue to encourage our students and their families to adopt healthy and sustainable forms of travel as we begin our campaign to achieve the Platinum award with an Outstanding Travel Plan. We are very grateful to all of the support given to us by South Gloucestershire Council. The impact of our ongoing work on active travel has been an increase in the number of students who are engaged in making healthier and more environmentally friendly choices which benefits both wellbeing and reduces carbon emissions.

Regional Nomination

We are delighted to have been nominated as the Secondary School of the Region for the second year in a row.

On Tuesday November 7th our Active Travel Group will find out if we have been successful in a Midlands/ South West regional final. We are excited to see if we may be the winners and therefore get an opportunity to attend the National Finals to compete for the Secondary School of the Year.
